This Event took place on May 30, 2011 at the Distillery District.
Griffin Poetry Prize (http://www.griffinpoetryprize.com/) is an annual Poet competition, which gives away the biggest amounts of money for their winners - $65000 each, I believe there are 2 winners every year. Wow, lucky poets!
The theme for the event was Middle Eastern with giant arcs, carpets and peacocks. We created a beautiful garden type of environment in the lounge areas of the venue, with the trees and pomegranates which was quite a challenge to put up, but at the end it turned out splendid! I wish I could stay for this event, but I was starting to slowly disappear from the starvation, so I had to go to Woo to get back into my shape, because the food at the Griffins was in the miniature portions, which smelled delicious, but is usually enough for the upscale class event, cause rich poets don't eat much at all. :)
It was an great experience to help decorate that event, as these were the most basis of where a spectacular decor comes from.
Here are some shots of what was done
Centerpieces on each table varied
